Next year Social Security benefits will see their largest increase in more than four decades

The cost of living adjustment, or COLA for 2023 will be 8.7% which is the biggest jump since 1981

On an average COLA increase is the equivalent of about $146 more per check 

COLA Increase goes into effect with December 2022 benefits which appear in checks in January 2023

Social Security payments are made on Wednesdays following Upcoming schedule for  November month

If your birth date is on the 11th-20th your payment will be distributed on November 16

If your birth date is on the 21st-31st  your payment will be distributed on November 23
