Visa Inc stands to lose the most from Fed’s new debit card rules

Federal Reserve guidelines on debit-card routing could have some impact on the financial performance of payment technology companies

Federal Reserve new guidelines that debit-card issuers will have to enable at least two payment-card networks for debit-card processing

Guidelines for debit-card processing includes online and  cardnot present transactions

Federal Reserve inform that final deadline for implementation will be July 1, 2023

Routing requirement would increase competition among payment technology companies 

Leads to lower processing fees which benefits in general

As per Analyst estimation expected that if this new rule could implemented a roughly 3% negative earnings impact for Visa  

Mastercard could see a negative earnings impact as well, of perhaps 2% on a per-share basis
